Council or Citizens?

  • Dear Interopen. Your article is very well done and comprehensive. It is refreshing to hear a sudden voice from the wilderness. Well, this is the surprise, surprise of open source, that one looks forward to on sometimes cloudy days.
  • However the council you refer to may be outmoded. They were most useful during the forking debate and fade off once their usefulness is gone. Now the community is trying to behave as Citizens. Thus you can make a call for vote on your good propositions there.
- the fading leader :)
  • Thanks red1, you are right, i mean Citizens, so much reading this days of Adempiere progress this years that i confuse the words.
- I apply the changes now. Ivan

I think it has been a long standing principle to keep business out of the project. Implementation is a business activity and I support the view expressed and debated in the past not to bring business issues in to the project. However, if implementers wish to organise and collaborate as a community and be good citizens - then I think that is fine but it should not be wrapped up in the project unless we want to re-open flame wars. Mike

The issue now Mike is sustainability support from the rest. We are ok. We stick to main team. What about the rest? We are asking them to pay something. By 'them' i mean the freeriders that do not contribute. But i won't support anything that delays open information from free-riding contributors either. - red1 17:45, 27 April 2010 (PDT)
  • Suggestion to the: One Proposal to rank implementors

Beside a individual contributor list we could also create a list on organization level. So all members of an organization are summed up.
