(11:22:52) Guest90259: hi guys, sorry I am late- I had the time wrong
(11:23:10) CarlosRuiz: Hi Joel
(11:24:19) Guest90259 has left the channel (quit: Client Quit).
(11:24:46) JoelS [~4b64bbbd@gateway/web/freenode/x-yncmwnziditacyrq] entered the channel.
(11:25:29) JoelS: did you start without me, or it's just been quiet?
(11:26:16) CarlosRuiz: nobody from functional team here
(11:26:26) CarlosRuiz: just you and me now
(11:26:30) JoelS: Hoff is sick again this week
(11:27:26) JoelS: ok, let's run through the agenda anyway
(11:27:50) JoelS: 1) I did not make progress on the spec template. I will commit again to having it done for next Friday
(11:28:40) CarlosRuiz: ok - if you need any help - or extra meeting with me to check something - just let me know
(11:29:21) JoelS: will do
(11:29:25) JoelS: 2) triage
(11:29:43) JoelS: we have assigned someone to spend part of each day to triage the bug reports
(11:30:02) JoelS: Angela- she is analyst with @ 3 years adempiere experience
(11:30:09) JoelS: very familiar with system
(11:30:29) CarlosRuiz: great - I wrote explanation of triage process here:
(11:30:29) CarlosRuiz: http://www.adempiere.com/index.php/Bug_Triage#Explanation_of_Bug_Triage_Process
(11:30:29) CarlosRuiz: and please tell her that I'm available for questions on IRC if she wants
(11:30:58) CarlosRuiz: also we need to promote the triage day next thursday
(11:31:51) JoelS: ok, do you want me to promote that?
(11:32:41) CarlosRuiz: I would like everybody to promote it  :-)
(11:33:10) CarlosRuiz: bug day entered in decadence - how can we make triage day successful?
(11:35:36) JoelS: i know i should be the one answering this, but is testadempiere now pointed to /release?
(11:35:47) CarlosRuiz: yep
(11:36:20) CarlosRuiz: ah - I see - error in redaction  :-)
(11:36:23) CarlosRuiz: fixing ....
(11:37:34) CarlosRuiz: :-) fixed - thanks for the tip
(11:38:10) JoelS: ?
(11:38:26) CarlosRuiz: hehehe - you didn't notice then
(11:39:13) CarlosRuiz: not really important
(11:39:13) CarlosRuiz: http://www.adempiere.com/index.php?title=Bug_Triage&diff=34660&oldid=34651
(11:40:21) JoelS: ah yes
(11:41:37) JoelS: i think we need a way to allocate the bugs to the participants, so they dont work on the same ones. What we did a couple times was break them down by the user that reported them
(11:41:54) JoelS: for example, I could triage the reports from phib
(11:42:18) JoelS: do you think that is valuable? or have a better way?
(11:42:55) JoelS: we could do by number range
(11:43:54) CarlosRuiz: I proposed to create a google spreadsheet and coordinate there in a column who is triaging
(11:43:58) CarlosRuiz: in last bug day
(11:44:09) JoelS: ok
(11:44:10) CarlosRuiz: let me check the link - we could try something similar
(11:44:35) CarlosRuiz: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AhBAFce33rWhdDRRRDQ2ZWVZbkdzTU1CenhGdERrZFE
(11:45:02) CarlosRuiz: I just put there big bugs
(11:45:02) CarlosRuiz: but we can open a spreadsheet with the 444 bugs
(11:45:13) JoelS: ok
(11:45:14) CarlosRuiz: and people sign in front who is triaging
(11:45:27) JoelS: i like it
(11:45:29) CarlosRuiz: the spreadsheet is public - so, exposed to vandalism
(11:45:46) CarlosRuiz: some days ago somebody deleted the main sheet
(11:46:05) CarlosRuiz: but with the revision history you can restore to a point in past
(11:46:55) JoelS: hopefully it was a dumb mistake...
(11:47:15) JoelS: anything else we need to discuss about triage?
(11:47:17) CarlosRuiz: indeed I'm wondered that it hasn't happened more
(11:47:35) CarlosRuiz: not from here
(11:48:12) JoelS: ok, I've looked at list of critical release items and functional inventory
(11:48:16) JoelS: great job
(11:48:27) JoelS: anything you would like to say here for the log?
(11:49:22) CarlosRuiz: just want some feedback before continuing - this become the main task for the next release - so I'll give high priority
(11:49:32) CarlosRuiz: but I already received your feedback  :-)
(11:49:53) CarlosRuiz: so, I'll try to fill some more lines and ask in mail list for feedback
(11:50:46) JoelS: ok
(11:51:03) JoelS: Point 5- new business
(11:52:12) JoelS: i think we need to reach out to the functional team members personally to see if they are serious
(11:52:16) JoelS: Redhuan D. Oon Armen Rizal Joel Stangeland Joel Hoffman Kai Schaeffer Bayu Cahya P
(11:52:47) JoelS: if they are not attending, is the meeting time bad? Do they not want to be part of it?
(11:53:10) JoelS: i guess as lead I can do this
(11:53:32) CarlosRuiz: sure - I'm ok with that
(11:54:07) JoelS: ok- JS to contact functional members directly
(11:54:15) JoelS: any other new business?
(11:54:46) CarlosRuiz: I'm working on finishing weighted average costing
(11:55:16) CarlosRuiz: initially integrating the work from Heng Sin to trunk
(11:56:05) CarlosRuiz: I'll keep functional discussion on forums
(11:56:31) CarlosRuiz: functional mail list is still too light to use it for that
(11:56:40) JoelS: good
(11:57:19) CarlosRuiz: my worry with forums - for the record - is that they're so bloated that some KEY people are not following as expected
(11:57:42) JoelS: i have not been regularly following lately
(11:57:49) JoelS: catch up every once in a whil;e
(11:58:01) JoelS: but I know I need to change that behavior....
(11:58:12) CarlosRuiz: exactly - that communication channel is mixing important issues with minor newbie questions - and with flames - etc
(11:58:55) CarlosRuiz: I think it's not your problem - forums tend to collapse because of heavy traffic and high noise/signal rate
(11:59:24) CarlosRuiz: the idea with mail list and topics is in future we use it as a more focused communication channel
(11:59:52) CarlosRuiz: and IMHO this issue is more serious in functional questions
(12:00:42) CarlosRuiz: ok - no more new business from here ...
(12:01:26) JoelS: good observations- if we get the groups functioning properly, then we can make progress
(12:01:57) JoelS: finally, for the meeting time- i know I have to be early morning or late evening to accommodate others. We need input from Steven and Kai if they want to attend, what time can work for both of them
(12:03:38) CarlosRuiz: hard thing - somebody will need to attend at late night
(12:04:33) JoelS: i'll try to find another time as I talk to the individuals
(12:04:40) JoelS: that was my agenda for this week
(12:04:46) JoelS: thanks for attending
(12:04:50) CarlosRuiz: we skipped point 3
(12:05:02) CarlosRuiz: but I guess it can be joined with point 4
(12:05:24) CarlosRuiz: I mean result of inventory feature will help us to plan the list of critical features we want for next release
(12:05:27) JoelS: sorry- yes, I joined the two
(12:05:31) CarlosRuiz: ok
(12:05:35) CarlosRuiz: thanks to you
(12:05:38) vpj-cd [~e-Evoluti@187.159.64.175] entered the channel.
(12:06:07) JoelS: bye
(12:06:26) CarlosRuiz: bye
