Top-ranked open source erp project ADempiere has made important progress in becoming the leader ERP solution world wide.

ADempiere Bazaar opened a malaysian office under the name ADempiere Sdn Bhd recently. The project's global leader, Red1 (Redhuan D. Oon) who happens to be in Malaysia, together with another open source advocate, Dr. Azman .. registered the company as a trustee foundation base for this fast growing benevolent project.

The ADempiere Bazaar Project, occupying the top 5 ranks in SourceForge ever since it was formed in September 2006, succeeded in forging further than just the defacto free ERP software suite for Small and Medium Business (SMB) sector worldwide.

According to Red1, the Malaysian office is a forerunner for the eventual setting up of the Malaysian ADempiere Society comprising of local ADempiere players that include public listed companies.

Red1 has recently concluded a discussion with some of China's institutions and interested parties where ADempiere shall be further taken up there as a viable solution to China's high growth SMB manufacturing sector which is also deeply chaotic and unorganisable.

"We hope to see a China where all its manufacturing is handled by a robust B2B Service Provider framework provided by the Chinese themselves, where it's not burdened by foreign proprietary licensing models. Open Source gives them just that. I have told the Chinese to setup their own ADempiere-China Foundation and they have agreed", he added.

Libya has also recently made a request to Red1 to visit Libya for further negotiations on some similar model.

ADempiere Bazaar is a congregation of the world's top ERP experts and developers as well as commercial entities that operate on the premise of sharing everything including business leads and profits.

The ADempiere chapter of Germany has offered to conduct the first ever ADempiere conference there, after making enough profits for the past year using ADempiere and also from its parent 'forked source' project, Compiere.

With the formation of the Malaysian foundation company it is hoped that ADempiere adoption in Malaysia can pick up considerably.

"Malaysia is my home country, thus i wish to see it prosper the most from this worldwide phenomenon as i happen to be its leader. But tomorrow the bazaar may elect another person from another country. By then it will be too late".

"Open Source is not about taking from others, but giving back to the world. It enriches the contributors more than they give. Malaysia has lots of talent but they are not taught the right way to contribute and assist the local industry to prosper with the best application suite".

"Particularly in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software that concerns the SMB sector, it is highly complex and thus requires a spectrum of expertise and activity. A worldwide bazaar that shares such experience thus gives more value than just mere codes."

Red1 hopes more parties can organise seminars for some of the bazaar top brains from around the world such as US, Latin America and Europe to give talks here.

"Our members are even willing to transfer their know-how, but in the open way where information is free, but people are not (just pay them their usual fees). They have done top world projects and their resumes read like a dream."

Red1 has also been invited by the Institute of Engineers, Malaysia to give a talk about "Tao of Open Source" on March, 17th, at its 2007 AGM.

KPerak, a state government concern has also shown interest in setting up the ADempiere Institute in Perak to conduct proper certified training on ADempiere.
