Ratings scheme

EBay and Amazon feedback are C2C or B2C, but we're talking here of B2B.

How can we solve problematic about:

  • big projects vs small projects (same vote for on US$8.000 implementation than US$80.000?) - to list projects some basic verifiable data must be provided (number of users, processes covered)
  • fake projects (there are people in ebay that gain reputation selling themselves, or putting friends to vote)
  • "verifiable" implementations? how are we going to verify? by phone? anyone can put a fake reference for that

On the other hand ebay allows qualification from seller and buyer, this is fair.

But are we going to get feedback for customers also

  • what if competence pay someone to vote negatively about a company in the same country? (really, for sure we're confronting competence from some "other company" partners that hate us - a lot of them also love us)
  • what if a customer doesn't pay accurately and the process fails because of that?
  • what if a customer disobey contract not assigning enough resources and the process fails because of that?

OK, concluding this post I think:

  • Not everybody can be listed in World-wide Directory, just real companies or free-lancers with verifiable experience
  • We need a good system to list projects but with a verifiable qualification process (about quality and quantity)
  • There must be rules to be put on top of the page? To order the list?
  • If we're going to implement a feedback system, we must be careful with the process, how to verify good and bad feedback to ensure that is not fake (or competence paid?)

Good point about B2B vs C2C. Fortunately i have gone thru a lot of painful business in my life and so i know what u talking about. With the miraculous web we can execute easily the above, but there will be some brick and mortar elements eventually.
  • feedback? no problem
  • failed process? just provide such metrics > Failures of Client i.e. Non-payments, Lack of info, etc
  • not real companies? there has been reference of how JobStreet.com solves it be asking for reference, or scanned certificates (or photos) so that browsers can scrutinise. There is also the Duns
