Hi Victor,

I have one question to you: If CAR WORKSHOP EQUIPMENT (big equipment is Asset) and PROFESSIONAL TOOL KIT(maybe Product) are Assets maybe we should add them in Workflow - Tools Tab.

HI Peter, I sorry I do not see your question before.

Well, Currently Libero Manufacturing Support that you can define the Tools into of BOM, this way when you create a Manufacturing Order or Maintenance Order the tools will be include into the Pick list, a Product that is defined as Tools only is exploded for one quantity.

The must important is the inventory control the this Asset, the reason is when that same Asset is necessary for different Manufacturing Activity, a typic case in the Plastic industry you need a good control of Patters so that different Manufacturing Activity need same Tools.

The Workflow Tools was think to indicate in that Manufacturing Activity will use the Tools.

So I now some some Question?

How should to management the available/ Un Available of a Asset (Can use the Current Inventory Functionality)?

Hi,

I have full Card of planned maintenance service of cars Mercedes-Benz 220, 210, 211, 203, 202, 140, 168(Russian).

But I created the simple card for this test. I think we should create three BOMs for Preventive Maintenance:

  • Preventive Maintenance 1 - through each 15 000 km
  • Preventive Maintenance 2 - through each 30 000 km
  • Preventive Maintenance 3 - through each 60 000 km

What do you think about it?

Hi Peter!

I think that is good example, I review the BOM and the wiki example I think that very nice.

I only have a question, Have you some to get the KM consumed?

How we can define a Forecast based in theKM consumed of Asset?

kind regards

Victor Perez

Hi Red1,

We will use resource for Maintenance Management :

  1. Material - Material transaction costs (e.g. spare parts).
  2. Labor - Labor resource transaction costs (e.g. mechanic for car).
  3. Equipment - Equipment resource transaction costs (e.g. diagnostics stand).

I think you should use Libero BOM (Multi Level BOM&Formula) if you use Libero MFG. But if you want to create a simple assemblage (e.g. Patio Furniture Set - 1 table, 4 Chairs and 1 Sun Screen) – use standard BOM. Yes, new PP_BOM this as easily as the old BOM.

I think, we should start to test it and add new functionality (e.g. meter readings) and we should check(or create) integration with other modules(e.g. Assets), because about 75 % of functionality (BOM, Forecast, MRP, MPS, CRP and etc.) is in Libero MFG.

What does Victor think about it?

To me it is wonderful, When I was design I setup to support the Maintenance Management.

kind regards

24 May 2009: Interested?

  • Hi Victor and Peter. I am also interested in such a system for a prospect and wonder if our ideas are the same:
    • Each maintenance event is a BOM comprising of say:
      • Spare parts
      • Labour charges
    • I intend to use the old simple BOM concept from Compiere.
  • Questions:
    • Can the new PP_BOM do this as easily as the old BOM?
    • What extras can we have in the new system?
  • If it is the same, then we can assist in design, development and testing.
