Interested?

  • Hi Victor and Peter. I am also interested in such a system for a prospect and wonder if our ideas are the same:
    • Each maintenance event is a BOM comprising of say:
      • Spare parts
      • Labour charges
    • I intend to use the old simple BOM concept from Compiere.
  • Questions:
    • Can the new PP_BOM do this as easily as the old BOM?
    • What extras can we have in the new system?
  • If it is the same, then we can assist in design, development and testing.

Hi Red1,

We will use resource for Maintenance Management :

  1. Material - Material transaction costs (e.g. spare parts).
  2. Labor - Labor resource transaction costs (e.g. mechanic for car).
  3. Equipment - Equipment resource transaction costs (e.g. diagnostics stand).

I think you should use Libero BOM (Multi Level BOM&Formula) if you use Libero MFG. But if you want to create a simple assemblage (e.g. Patio Furniture Set - 1 table, 4 Chairs and 1 Sun Screen) – use standard BOM. Yes, new PP_BOM this as easily as the old BOM.

I think, we should start to test it and add new functionality (e.g. meter readings) and we should check(or create) integration with other modules(e.g. Assets), because about 75 % of functionality (BOM, Forecast, MRP, MPS, CRP and etc.) is in Libero MFG.

What does Victor think about it?
