I think you should use Libero BOM (Multi Level BOM&Formula) if  you use Libero MFG.

But if  you want to create a simple assemblage (e.g. Patio Furniture Set - 1 table, 4 Chairs and 1 Sun Screen) – use standard BOM.

Yes, new PP_BOM this as easily as the old BOM.

I think, we should start to test it and add new functionality (e.g. meter readings) and we should check(or create) integration with other modules(e.g. Assets), because about 75 % of functionality (BOM, Forecast, MRP, MPS, CRP and etc.) is in Libero MFG.

Interested?

  • Hi Victor and Peter. I am also interested in such a system for a prospect and wonder if our ideas are the same:
    • Each maintenance event is a BOM comprising of say:
      • Spare parts
      • Labour charges
    • I intend to use the old simple BOM concept from Compiere.
  • Questions:
    • Can the new PP_BOM do this as easily as the old BOM?
    • What extras can we have in the new system?
  • If it is the same, then we can assist in design, development and testing.

Hi Red1,

We will use resource for Maintenance :

  1. Material - Material transaction costs (e.g. spare parts).
  2. Labor - Labor resource transaction costs (e.g. mechanic for car).
  3. Equipment - Equipment resource transaction costs (e.g. diagnostics stand).

What does Victor think about it?

MM functionality review

I’m main consultant for the Oracle eAM, therefore I suggest to consider good ideas from Oracle about it.I wait for your wishes:-)

Maintenance Management functionality should enables organizations to create optimal asset management strategies the can increase revenue and decrease costs. By effectively monitoring operational data such as maintenance history, performance trends, meter readings, and operating conditions, organizations should proactively manage available resources such as inventory, equipment, and skilled personnel, to match them to asset maintenance demand.

I think we should use three cost elements, described below:

  • Material - Material transaction costs (e.g. spare parts).
  • Labor - Labor resource transaction costs (e.g. mechanic for car).
  • Equipment - Equipment resource transaction costs (e.g. diagnostics stand).

All material charges classify as Material cost elements. A resource charge of type person classifies as a Labor cost element. A resource charge of type machine is classified as an Equipment cost element.
