Use of "renown"

I am not sure whether this document, which seems a bit like a corporate press release and has a specific release date, should be treated as a living document or not. I would suggest changing the word "renown" at the start of the second paragraph. The correct adjective form is "renowned" (according to several dictionaries, including Wiktionary). However, I think even that term is difficult for non-British and non-native speakers of English. I suggest the near synonym "well-known" instead. If I don't get some complaints in the next three days, I will go ahead and change it.
