Compiere, offers of CRM- and ERP solutions on Open Source basis, shifted its head office of Haven country in the Federal State Oregon to Santa Clara in California. With the move, the enterprise moved into the spatial proximity of new Enterprise Associates (NEA). This venture capital company had considered Compiere in June with an investment at a value of six million US dollar.
Compieres management, who wants to use that the money for the development of development, support, marketing and training, expects from the move a better entrance to the talented new generation developers of Silicon Valley. The integrated solution for bookkeeping, customer and supplier administration Compiere is based upon Java and Oracle database 10g. The software stands under the Mozilla Public License (MPL). A group of developers from the Community created in September its own fork ADempiere. As reason for the splitting off they state the communication readiness allegedly lacking on the part of Compiere.
